Maycell E. Black Funeral services for Maycell E. Black, age 88, of Tyler, formerly of Rusk, were held on June 18 at First Congregational Methodist Church in Rusk with Rev. Ray Robbins officiating. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace- Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mrs. Black died June 16, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. She was born Jan. 16, 1919, in Converse, La., to the late Oliver and Ada Daugherty Price. She was a resident of Rusk for 50 years, formerly of Port Arthur where she lived from 1936 to 1951. She then moved to Tyler in 2002. She retired in 1981 after 25 years as secretary for the County Superintendent of Schools and Cherokee County Teacher's Federal Credit Union, and she was the local registrar for death certificates. In 1998 she received her 50-year pin from Port Arthur Chapter Eastern Star. She was the Good Samaritan Director for several years in Rusk. She was a member of First Congregational Methodist Church in Rusk and was preceded in death by her husband, Lydell "Dell" Black, in 1983. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Burley Kinsel of Lake Palestine; granddaughters and husbands, Sheila and David Mogle and Melanie and Robby Leach, all of Whitehouse; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Cody Mogle of Whitehouse, and Skylar Leach of Whitehouse; four nieces, Patty Oltremari, Helen Robertson, Mary Ada Russell and Doris King; nephew, Jeff Price; and all of the nephews' and nieces' spouses, children and grandchildren. Maycell was one of five children. Pallbearers included David Mogle, Robby Leach, Cody Mogle, Jerry Oltremari, Jeff Price and Mike Russell.
