Report pending on WH shooting

No official report has been completed by the Texas Rangers in the officer involved shooting of Lynn Smith of Whitehouse. "The report is pending referral to the grand jury," said Sgt. Kenny Ray of the Texas Rangers.

According to Whitehouse police chief Rick Waller, the grand jury will meet in August to hear the case, which is standard procedure.

Waller said it is possible that Officer Trent Richardson will return to duty as soon as next week.
