James Richard Hearon

Services for James Richard Hearon, 82, of Whitehouse was held June 27 in the Chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Chaplain James Duncan officiating. Private burial was in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Hearon died Sunday, June 24, 2007 in Hospice of East Texas HomePlace after a short battle with cancer. He was born May 6, 1925 to the late Joe and Maggie Hearon of Whitehouse where he still resided. Richard was a retired Tyler Fireman of 26 1/2 years. He also served in World War II in the Philippines. After returning home, he enjoyed horse and tack trading, raising chickens and trapping wild hogs.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Hearon. He is survived by their two children, Sharon Kay Bennett and Richie Hearon and their children. Also surviving is his wife of 35 years, Lou Hearon; her daughters, Janna Shockey and Rhona Butler; granddaughter, Nikki Hearon; grandsons, Codda Matl and Blake Butler; great-grandchild, Noah Brown; and sister, Mrs. Molen Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were members and employees of the Tyler Fire Department.
