Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Thursday, July 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

VFW Post 1799 open daily

VFW Post 1799 on Rhone Quarter Road opens daily at 2:30 p.m. for members and guests. Each day offers a different activity such as competitive pool, karaoke and social hour. For information visit WWW.vfw1799.org or call 903-561-3501.

Masonic Lodge #1371 to meet

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at the lodge. All Masonic brothers are welcome to attend.

Whitehouse Chamber holds meeting

The Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce will hold their quarterly noon meeting and luncheon Tuesday, July 10 at the First United Methodist Church. That evening from 5-7 p.m. Mary Moore at the Edward Jones office plays host to the chamber's After Hours event.

Troup American Legion Auxillary to meet

Troup American Legion Auxillary will meet Tuesday, July 10 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Troup Sons of the Legion to meet

Troup Sons of the Legion will meet Wednesday, July 11 at 7 p.m. at the legion hall.

Troup VFW to meet

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, July 12 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

Baseball benefit tourney set

The many friends of Coleton Wedel are hosting a baseball tournament for July 13 and 14. Games will be played in Troup, Arp, Carlisle and West Rusk. Finals will be played in Troup. Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

"Sail Away With Books," the Texas Summer Reading Club, meets every Wednesday at the Whitehouse Community Library. Sailors, age 3-6, meet 9:30-10:15 a.m. First Mates, age 7- 10, meet 10:30-11:15 a.m. Captains, age 11-14, meet 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Karing Kitchen

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ. For information, call 903-592-0809.

Troup American Legion hosts karaoke

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Church Related Activities

Whitehouse UMC hosts breakfast July 7

The First United Methodist Church of Whitehouse hosts a community breakfast the first Saturday of the month from 8- 10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted. The church is located at 405 W. Main.

VBS and gospel meeting set in Troup

The Church of Christ in Troup will host a gospel meeting on July 11-13 at 7 p.m. The speaker each night will be Mike Warner, a well-known Tyler minister. "Jesus and Me" will be the topic of his series of lessons. Super Saturday (VBS) will follow the nightly meetings on July 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and lunch is included.

Government Related Activities

Troup City Council to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.

Troup trustees to meet

Troup ISD trustees meet Monday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
