Kollin Wayne Perkins
Kollin died July 5, at the SeaHorse Ranch in Decatur. He was born Aug. 15, 1994 in Henderson. He was a lifetime resident of Troup and was about to enter the seventh grade at Troup Middle School. He was a drummer in the band. Kollin also played basketball and was the quarterback for his football team and was named its MVP. Kollin also enjoyed riding his dirt bike. He his survived by his father, Kevin Perkins, Troup; mother, Sonja Jennifer Perkins, Troup; stepfather, Kyle Mize, Troup; three brothers, Preston Perkins, Brendon Perkins and Austin Perkins, all of Troup; his grandparents, Fred and Mary Perkins, Troup, Sonja Dianne and Curtis Loya, Jacksonville, Mike Hurd, Terrell, Roger Braggs, Gray Court, S.C., and David and Tish Harlan, Lewisville; greatgrandparents, Evelyn Hedgecock, Tyler, Martha Perkins, Quitman, Kay Loya, Jacksonville and Roy and Nancy Harlan, Decatur; aunts, Wendy White, Lewisville, Whitney Loya and Danielle Loya, both of Jacksonville, Whitney Miller and Heather Miller, both of Arkansas, Andrea McCurdy, Lewisville; and uncles, Cain Hurd, Texarkana, and David Harlan, Arkansas; great-aunts and uncles, Suzie and I.W. Robertson, Tyler, and Martha and John Rich, Cedar Hill; and cousins, Jeremy Robertson, Tyler, James Robertson, Dallas, and Suzanne Rich, Cedar Hill, and Scott Rich, Cedar Hill. Pallbearers were Marc Waller, Paul Hinkle, David Ray Harlan, Troy Humphries, Cain Hurd and Casey Hodge. A memorial fund has been established in his name at the Troup Banking Center.
