Hilltop hosts parent/child golf tourney

Participants in the third annual parent/child golf tournament included (back) Taylor Stanley, Tyler Huffstickler, Cody Gilbert, Will Langston, Cory Caraway, (front) Parker Galbraith, Cameron Brown, Jaime Scruggs and Kalynn Hinkle.

Nine teams braved one of the many scattered shower warnings on June 26 to compete in Hilltop Country Club's Third Annual Parent/Child Golf Tournament.

Competition featured a nine-hole mixed ball format.

Cory and Cody Caraway captured first place in the Tiger Woods flight, followed by Will and Les Langston in second.

Two teams tied for first in the Jim Furyk flight: Cody and Hank Gilbert and Tyler and Randy Huffstickler.

Finishing third were Taylor and Kevin Stanley.

In the Phil Mickelson flight, Jaime and Roby Scruggs secured first, followed by Cameron and Bob Brown in second. Rounding out the flight were Parker Galbraith and Ron Welch in third, and Kalynn and Paul Hinkle in fourth.
