Weldon Jackson "Buddy" Dodd
Services for Weldon Jackson "Buddy" Dodd, 82, of Jacksonville were held July 12 at First Baptist Church, Bullard, with Rev. Frank Roberson and Joel Whitmire officiating.

Burial was in the Whitehouse Cemetery, Whitehouse. Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Mr. Dodd died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born April 24, 1925 in Houchton, Ga. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as chief appraiser for Huntsville Independent School District. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bullard, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Huntsville. He was preceded in death by brother, Ray Dodd, and sisters, Peggy Ray and Tacky Mitchum.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Dodd, Jacksonville; son, Rex M. Dodd, Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Phyllis N. Duncan, Forney; brothers, George T. Dodd, Jacksonville, and Byron Dodd, Whitehouse; sister-in-law, Christine Dodd, Tyler; brother-in-law, Rev. Mitchum, Tyler; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bryan Duncan, Ben Duncan, Cody Dodd, Jason Croley, Joel Payne and Anthony Salisbury.

Honorary pallbearers were Bradley Lewis, Larry Locke, Andy Devine, Gail Jackson, Eric Rodriguez, Randy Rodriguez and Rod Rodriguez.
