Billie Jo McCugh

Graveside services for Billie Jo McCugh, 69, of Troup were held July 21 at the Williams Cemetery, near New Chapel Hill, with the Reverend Mike Cline officiating, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mrs. McCugh died Tuesday, July 17 in a Tyler hospital. She was born July 27, 1937 in Grand Saline, to the late William Henry James and Josephine Carpenter James. She had been a resident of the Troup area for over 40 years.

Mrs. McCugh graduated from college in North Carolina and was a nurse's aide. She was employed by Westwood Convalescent Home in Troup for seven years.

Mrs. McCugh attended the Assembly of God Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Barlow.

Survivors include her spouse, Harley Alt, Troup; three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Cathy Kemp, Whitehouse, Tim and Teresa Barlow, Troup, and Michael and Rajeena McCugh, Kountze; a daughter, Tammy Tarver, Troup; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
