Two Troup teams, Troup Titans and Diamond Divas, stormed the state tournaments for both softball and T-ball, bringing home first and third place honors.
The Troup Titans entered the state softball tournament with an undefeated record of 16- 0. "The first loss of the year was the first game of the state tournament," Coach David Mason said. The loss forced the girls to play three games back to back for the following days to win the tournament.
"The day after we lost we shut out three teams - they scored no points," Coach Walter Flora said. "We never had more than three points scored on us with the exception of the loss." The Troup Titans is made up of nine and 10-year-olds; the girls are the first in Troup to win first place in the state tournament. "They did awsome, for them to fight back like they did. It's pretty amazing and nearly impossible." Flora said.
