Boodie wins Hilltop's club championship

Robert Boodie beat the closest competitor by four strokes to win Hilltop Country Club's club championship on July 14- 15. Boodie shot a combined score of 136 to beat secondplace finisher Rusty Brady, 140. Jonathon Hill also shot 140 in the championship flight and finished third.

This was the first club championship for Boodie, who lives in Bullard.

Robbie Leach led the first flight with a score of 140. In second place was James Tomlin with 148. Cody Caraway took third with 148.

In the second flight, Jeff Smith won with a score of 156. Brad Reagan took second place with 157, and Jack Langston earned third with 157.

Third flight results were John Obery, first, 153; Ron Doshes, second, 160; and Billy Cooper, third, 164.

Fourth flight results were Bill Arnold, first, 159; Kevin Buroney, second, 160; and Tracy Ainsworth, 166.

Fifth flight results were M.A. Ghene, first, 171; Tyler Lindsey, second, 182; and Ray Griffin, third, 189.

Hilltop also released results from the Tuesday senior scramble on July 17 and the Thursday afternoon scramble on July 19.

Senior scramble

With nine under par, the first place team included Brad Reagan, Shine Vega, Oran Whorton, Jack Gowen and Gerald Shields.

The second place team finished with eight under par. Team members were Jack Hardy, Elmer Sadler, Billie Sadler, Morris Turner and Ron Dohse.

The third place team of Jack Harris, Jesse Polston, Morris Leymes and Don McPherson shot seven under.

Hitting closest to the hole was Ron Dohse and Oran Whorton.

Thursday scramble

Finishing with six under par, the first place team included Roby Scruggs, Billy Fuller, Brian Clements and Richard Cooper.

In second place John Berry, Matt Shaffer, Cory Caraway and Armour Hays finished with five under par.

Matt Shaffer and Roby Scruggs hit closest to the hole.
