Parker completes Eagle Scout project
WH city hall gets facelift

Scoutmaster Troy Haden assists Eagle Scout candidate Jacob Parker with renovations to the Whitehouse city hall grounds. The city hall improvements are Parker's service project to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a junior at Whitehouse High School.
Eagle Scout candidate Jacob Parker of Troop 359 completed his project of doing the landscaping at Whitehouse City Hall on July 13.

The project involved removal of the previous plants and replacing them with blue spruce junipers, nandennas, yellow lantana, caladiums and impatiens.

The project also involved the planting of 17 crepe myrtles along Bascom road and in front of city hall, as well as cleaning up the former city hall and planting caladiums and impatiens in those beds.

Fifteen scouts and adult leaders from Troop 359, sponsored by Whitehouse United Methodist Church, volunteered their time to assist with the project. Those helping were Daniel Head, David Nichols, Dylan Davis, Dusty Johnson, Brannon Beaton, Mitchell Licht, James Ray, Danny Hayden, Troy Hayden, Brian Parsons, James Lenderman, Spencer Wright, Mark Parsons, and Kevin Kapka.

Whitehouse mayor Jake Jacobson congratulates Jordan Scott on earning the rank of Eagle Scout and presents him with a proclamation at last week's city council meeting.
The benefit to the community of the project is to enhance the outside appearance of city hall and to help instill a sense of pride in the city.
