WH police assist federal drug bust
BY SUZANNE LOUDAMY Staff writer

Whitehouse police officers assisted federal law enforcement officials in serving a search warrant last week that led to the arrest of 46-yearold Craig Kee.

Drug enforcement agents searched the home at 607 Partridge Lane in Whitehouse and found marijuana plants of various sizes. According to Whitehouse Police Detective Mary Pyle, there were 20 large plants, 10 small plants, a large amount of dried marijuana and marijuana packaged to sell within the house.

"Two of the bedrooms were set up for growing and processing the plants," said Pyle. "There was lighting as well as an irrigation system and a drying system."

Local and federal authorities consider this joint effort a positive step in shutting down another source for illegal drugs in Smith County.

Kee was booked into federal custody.
