Book donations on hold at WH library

Whitehouse Community Librar y director Sandra Knackstedt requests those who would like to make book donations to the library to please wait until after the annual book sale on Sept. 21-22.

"We are drowning in books," Knackstedt said.

People have always supported the library with book, magazine and movie donations and the generosity is appreciated, but right now they cannot catalog the books they have because of taking care of all the donations.

"We're setting a limit on book donations to those published in 2005-2007 due to space restraints," Knackstedt said.

The library has been acquiring books for their Great Big Book Sale for several months but cannot store any more and does not want to rent storage space due to the destruction of the books by heat.

The annual sale is normally held on the Saturday of YesterYear, but the library was open so the date was moved.
