WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS Annual luncheon Aug. 23 Local business owners Deborah A. Tinsley and Suzi Streit will offer their expertise at the 10th annual Women Entrepreneurs Networking Luncheon & Exhibit, presented by Tyler Junior College's Small Business Development Center and the TJC School of Continuing Studies. The event is set for Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Tyler Rose Garden Center, located at 420 S. Rose Park Dr. This year's theme is "Celebrating Women's Achievements & Possibilities", and East Texas Certified Development Corporation is the event gold sponsor. The day's activities will begin 9:15 a.m. with "Achieving Your Goals by Strengthening Your Relationships," an hour-long seminar presented by Suzi Streit of TurnAround Solutions. Streit teaches a wide range of courses designed to improve leadership skills and enhance professional and personal interactions - from Crucial Conversations, for which she is a certified instructor, to DiSC personality profiling. She has also developed several of TurnAround's innovative, interactive training curriculums, from time management to coaching-style management. Exhibit booths will open at 9:30 a.m., and networking will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Lunch, catered by Josephs Catering, will be served from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m., during which Sharon Young Boutique, Cavender's and Brides & Belles will present a style show sponsored by Elite Concierge. Guest speaker Deborah A. Tinsley will also speak during the luncheon. Tinsley's Exceptional Home Care is the most recent success stor y to emerge from TJC's Small Business Development Center and Tyler Area Business Incubator. Begun as an idea and a single office in the TABI, Exceptional Home Care now has three offices and nearly 300 nurses who serve needy children throughout 63 counties in East Texas and received the Incubator Graduate Award for 2007 from the National Business Incubation Association at its international conference in Seattle.
