Warren Dee "W.D." Maxfield

SAND FLAT - Services for Warren Dee "W.D." Maxfield, 71, of Sand Flat community were held Aug. 2 at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors chapel, Lindale, with the Revs. Craig Little and Jerry Hawbaker officiating.

Burial was in Sand Flat Cemeter y near Lindale. Mr. Maxfield died July 30, 2007 at his residence. He was born Dec. 15, 1935 in Salmon to the late Fred Dee and Leona Allen Maxfield. He was a longtime resident of Sand Flat and retired in 1986 as a machinist from Tyler Pipe. He was a member of Bailes Baptist Church and also attended Antioch Baptist Church and Damascus Baptist Church. He was a former member of Red Springs Fire Department and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity Restore. He was preceded in death by grandson, Jason Maxfield in 1999.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Martha Morris Maxfield, Sand Flat; sons, Dewayne Maxfield, David Maxfield and Darrell Maxfield, all of Sand Flat; daughters, Kathy "Kat" Martinez, Sand Flat, and Karen Hudgins, Hope, Ark.; sisters, Louise Powell and Lucille Staples, both of Tyler, and Opal Burchfield, Whitehouse; brothers, Marvin Maxfield, Tyler, and Roger Maxfield, Sand Flat; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Leonard Yowell, Carlos Martinez, Ricky Maniord, Robbie Maxfield, Kevin Bumbard and Wayne Maxfield.

Honorary pallbearer was Ricardo Martinez.
