Troup VFW to meet

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

Bowmans return to Troup for presentation

Bob and Doris Bowman of Lufkin, called "the murder historians" of East Texas, will present an "Afternoon of Murders" at the Troup Library on Saturday, Aug. 11. The meeting begins at 2 p.m.

Bayou Grill welcomed by Chamber

The Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce is welcoming the Bayou Grill to the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. They are located at 904 Hwy. 110 N. The public is invited.

Masonic Lodge #1371 to meet

Henry Marsh Bell Masonic Lodge #1371 will meet Monday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. at the lodge. All Masonic brothers are welcome to attend.

Troup American Legion Auxillary to meet

Troup American Legion Auxillary will meet Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

TYA to elect officers

The Troup Youth Association will be having a general meeting to elect officers for the 2007-2008 season on Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Troup baseball complex.

Church Activities

Mt. Elem revival continues

The annual revival and homecoming of Mt. Elem Baptist Church, Hwy 110S, continues through Friday, Aug. 10 with nightly meetings at 7:30 p.m.. Rev. James Brice will be the evangelist. Everyone is invited.

School Activities

TJC counselors at WHS during registration

TJC counselors will be on campus 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 16 for WHS students taking TJC classes. For complete details on WHS registration and class schedules see page 3B.

Registration set at Whitehouse Junior High

Whitehouse Junior High School registration will be Thursday, Aug. 16 for all students. This is mandatory for all seventh and eighth graders, returning and new. It will be in the junior high library and cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A parent or guardian must accompany the student to register.

Troup HS freshman orientation set

Freshman orientation is Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at Troup High School. There will be a parent meeting for incoming freshmen following at 5 p.m.

Troup HS class schedules

Class schedule pick up is set for Aug. 21 from 3-7 p.m. at Troup High School. Parents are encouraged to attend to fill out

paperwork.

Government Activities

Troup trustees to meet

Troup ISD trustees meet Monday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.

WISD trustees to meet

The Whitehouse ISD trustees will meet on Monday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Wildcat Drive Annex, 109 Wildcat Drive.

Troup City Council to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
