Bateman, Clausen wed

Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Clausen
Vonda Bateman of Troup and Arp, and Jeffery Clausen of Davenport, Iowa, exchanged wedding vows May 26 at Elmwood Gardens near Palestine. Rev. Tommy Harden of Arp officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Van Bateman and Nancy Bateman of Arp. She is the granddaughter of the late Jim and Doris Mitchell of Troup. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Junior College and Arp High School. She is employed by Target, Inc.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Clausen of Davenport, Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa, Scott Community College and North High School. He is employed by the Purina Division of Nestle Corpora- tion.

Attendants for the bride were Lara Parker of Arp, matron of honor, and Suni Bateman of Arp, sister of the bride. Alie Kate Parker of Arp was flower girl. K.J. Holman of Davenport, Iowa, nephew of the groom was ring bearer.

Best man was Ed Meyers of Atlanta, Georgia. Groomsman was J.C. Giehm of Peoria, Ill.

Ushers were cousins of the bride, Jeff Hamner, Steven Hamner and Darren Hamner, all of Paris.

After a honeymoon trip to Jamaica the couple will reside in Allentown, Penn.

Mr. and Mrs. Clausen are both staff sergeants with the Army Reserves. They met while on active duty in Afghanistan at Bagram Air Field.
