Lady Cats open year with loss to Carthage
The season opener was a hard-fought contest, with the Lady Bulldogs ultimately prevailing in three games, 19-25, 23- 25 and 24-26. "Although the season did not open up with a win as we'd planned, we still believe in our team and our ability to be champions," said heach coach Cheryl Till. Christine Ford led the team with 8 kills, 9 assists and 12 points. Katie Kidwell also notched 8 kills, followed by Jordan Knight with 6. The JV won 25-13 and 26-24. The freshman score was 17-25, 25-21 and 25-12. Next up for the varsity is the Van Tournament on Friday and Saturday, followed by a dual match with Van and Tyler Lee at home on Aug. 21. The freshmen and JV will be at the Tyler Lee Tournament on Saturday and then home for the Van/Tyler Lee game next Tuesday. Games begin at 5 p.m. with the freshmen first. |
