New drill team line chosen for '07-'08

The Whitehouse High School First Ladies Drill Team has been hard at work learning exciting routines for the 2007 football season. They First Ladies met throughout the summer to practice dance technique and recently attended a five day camp to learn intricate routines that are sure to bring the Wildcat crowd to their feet during pep-rallies and half-time.

The First Ladies are proud to announce the 2007-2008 line. Before school ended, the candidates learned a jazz routine and a kick routine in just three days from the officers. They were then judged on projection, appearance, flexibility, and execution of the routines by three independent judges.

The 2007-2008 dance line consists of: Hailie Barker, Amy Beeler, Elizabeth Bolton, Morgan Booker, Brittnee Davis, Emily Estrella, Katrina Flores, Alexis Foster, Arden Foster, Allyson Fulcher, Jill Furlow, Courtney George, Caitlin Giddens, Brooke Gray, Jessica Hart, Emily Helms, Shelby Lamb, Emily Lampin Sarah Leonard, Hannah Lunsford, Courtney Lux, Kaley Martin, Hannah Martindale, Taylor McNeel, Mallory Miner, Kristin Sullivan, Paige Stephenson, Sarah Grace Sweeney, Amanda Vargas and Emily Williams.

Managers for the 2007-2008 are Alicia Briggs, Kelly Culpepper and Kaylee Stamps. These young ladies play an instrumental role in assisting the drill team with music, props and various other tasks and projects.

The line will be led by Officers Dru Dawkins (Captain), Rachel Lunsford (First Lieutenant), Sam Draper, Rachel Marble, Codi Potter and Laura Viergever who were elected in April.

The first event for the new line will be a "Little Lady Lockin" held Saturday, August 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 at Whitehouse High School. This is for girls entering Kindergarten through 4th grade and will cost $25. The evening of fun will include the for '07-'08

"Little Ladies" learning a pom routine that they will perform with the First Ladies at the first Wildcat football home game on September 7. For more information about the lock-in, call 903-839-6689.
