CR 2180 open for business +

McGinnis
The floods of June and early July took their toll on many Smith County roads and bridges. One such bridge was completely washed out and residents were forced to take a lengthy bypass to travel north and south.

The bridge on County Road 2180, aka Yarbrough Lane, south of Whitehouse, has been completed. See photo, page 3A.

"I'm thrilled 2180 has been re-opened," said Smith County Commissioner Bill McGinnis. "I want to thank all of the residents along 2180 for their patience while we worked with FEMA, the governor's office and others to get this road back in service for them."

The area washed out on CR 2186 is still waiting on a culvert while East Shores Estates has a temporary fix in place at this time.

"It is being rebuilt with two larger culverts or a larger concrete culvert," said McGinnis.
