William C. Lynch

Services for William C. "Bill" Lynch, 72, of Tyler were held Aug. 18 at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Towns and Rev. Jerry Hawbaker officiating.

Burial followed in Pine Springs Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Lynch died on Aug. 15, 2007 at his home in Tyler. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Tyler to the late John and Lola Reeves Lynch. He was raised in Smith County and graduated from Tyler High School in 1953. Mr. Lynch served in the Korean War as a Marine until 1957. He then returned to Tyler and married his sweetheart, Melba Fuller, in August of 1957. Mr. and Mrs. Lynch recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was a member of Pine Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, and especially helping people.

Survivors include his loving wife, Melba Lynch; daughters, Pam Hamer and husband Cliff of LaRue, and Marsha Ballard and husband Stephen of Troup; grandchildren, Eric Raska and wife Tracy, Megan Raska, Ryan Hamer and wife Carla, Brianna Ballard, Blayne Ballard, and Jennifer Hamer; and one brother, Jack Lynch and wife Linda of Tyler.

Pallbearers were Kevin Hawbaker, Dale Hawbaker, Ryan Hamer, Billy Taylor, Boyd Tatum, Tony Causey, Bob White and Milton Covey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Sunday School Class of Pine Springs Baptist Church.
