Jerry Mack Romine
Burial was in Smyrna Cemetery, Wood County. Arrangements under direction of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Denton. Mr. Romine died Aug. 13, 2007, in a Dallas hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Winnsboro to the late Howard Eugene and Mattie Waldrop Romine. He received his bachelor's degree from Mississippi Baptist College Clinton, Miss. He retired as a major from the Army, and then became the purchasing agent for Denton County and DART. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Denton, Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post No. 71 where he served as director for four years, and Coppell Bass Club. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Smith, and brother, Howard Eugene Romine. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Vivian Sue Marr Romine, Denton; daughter, Cindy Romine, Oak Point; son, Jerry E. Romine, Denton; sisters, Sara Surratt and Glyenda O'Briant, both of Winnsboro, and Mary York of Troup; and brother, Richard "Red" Romine, Chandler. |
