Louise Swinney Jones

Funeral services for Mary Louise Swinney Jones, 84, of Troup were held Aug. 17 in the Cottle Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jim Norman officiating. Burial was in Rucker Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 in Tyler. She was born June 2, 1923 in Arp to the late Wylie and Noley Swinney. She was a life-long resident of the Troup area and retired in 1987 from Troup Convalescent Nursing Home where she worked fourteen years in housekeeping.

Mrs. Jones was a hard worker and loved and took care of her family. She loved reading the Bible and was a member of West Duval Baptist Church, Troup.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lavon Jones, in 1971. She was also preceded by a sister, Jody Swinney.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tommy and Susan Wells of Pasorobles, Calif., and Jerry Lynn Wells of Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Lecia and Randy Fields of Troup; a brother, T.W. Swinney of Longview; a sister, Ruby Smith of Tyler; six grandchildren, Chasity Baxter, Casey Baxter, Jachin Webster, Robert Randal Fields, Jennifer Leann Fields, and Carrie Dudley; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
