Hilltop reports scramble results

Hilltop Country Club has announced results from its Thursday afternoon and senior Tuesday scrambles.

Thursday afternoon

Winners of the Aug. 16 scramble were Jeff Keith, Brian Starnes, Alex Turner, Scott Steele and Robin Kisling with a 7-under score.

Also shooting a 7-under was the team of Richard Cooper, W. Watson, C. Freeman and R. Meeks, finishing in second.

Coming in third, with a sixunder score, were Roby Scruggs, Andy Jarvis, Bill Luce, Brian Stenberg and Andrew Scoggins.

In the closest to the hole contest, top finishers were Terry Reid on number three, Toby Scruggs on hole six and Scruggs again on number eight.

Brandon Johnston, Brian Clements, Davy Hamilton and Alex Turner won the Aug. 9 scramble, also with a 7-under round.

Jimmy Malik, M.A. Ghene, Ed Leal and Carl Cochran shot a 6-under to take second.

The third-place team finished with a 4-under. They were Terry Reid, Suzanne Reid, Jeff Berryhill and Myla Mayberry.

Brandon Johston hit closest to the hole on six, and Carl Cochran on eight.

Tuesday senior scramble

Playing on Aug. 14, Ron Dohse, Stan Wilkinson, George Curtin and Don McPherson took top honors with a 6-under par score.

A 3-under round was good enough for second, with Dan Whitaker, Andy Griffin, Morris Crymes and Hendry Edwards claiming that honor.

In third place were Brad Reagan, Morris Turner, Doug Young and Tommy Parrott with a 1-under.

Brad Reagan also won the closest to the hole contest on number eight.
