Chamber holds After Hours

After Hours, held by business members of the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce, will be hosted this month by the Bayou Grill. Come, visit and enjoy the Cajun cuisine on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 5-7 p.m.

Preview Event tickets on sale Tuesday

Preview Event tickets for the Great Big Book Sale at the Whitehouse Community Library go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 4. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the library.

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Troup American Legion Auxiliary to meet

Troup American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, Sept 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Troup Sons of the Legion to meet

Troup Sons of the Legion will meet Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at the legion hall.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

Story time begins Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11-4. Questions? Call the library at 903- 839-2429 or email at whitehouselibrary@hotmail.com.

Troup pastors prayer breakfast set

The Impact Committee of Troup invites all Troup community pastors to the 1st annual prayer breakfast on Sept. 10 at 8:30 a.m. at the 4 Oakes Cafe. Questions? Call 903-842-2555 or 903-842-3807.

Whitehouse UMC hosts breakfast

The First United Methodist Church of Whitehouse hosts breakfast the first Saturday of the month from 8-10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted. The church is located at 405 W. Main.

School Activities

Whitehouse Band Boosters meet

The Whitehouse Band Boosters will meet Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. in the band hall. All band parents are encouraged to attend.

Troup Band Boosters meet

The Troup Band Boosters will meet Monday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the band hall. All band parents are encouraged to attend.

WHS Open House set

Whitehouse High School Open House is set for Tuesday, Sept. 11. Class visitation begins at 6:15 with dinner, for $3, in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:10 and a PTSA meeting at 6 p.m.

Government Activities

Troup City Council to meet

A special-called meeting of the Troup City Council is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. This is the final public hearing for citizen participation concerning the proposed tax rate and budget. The meeting will be held at the Troup ISD Administration Office at 201 N. Carolina.
