Free language classes to be held Thursdays at WH Wesleyan Church

Free classes in conversational Spanish and English begin Sept. 6 at the Bible Wesleyan Church in Whitehouse. The classes will meet each Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. through Nov. 15.

This free evening course is designed especially for people who want or need to learn Spanish or English for conversational and survival skills. The only cost is for a textbook. New books are $30 and used books are $10.

"The Palacios family is new to our church," Pastor Dennis Cable said. "They offered to teach these classes as an outreach to the community."

Dr. Ignacio Palacios has a doctorate degree in English. He is a native of Mexico and grew up in the United States. He is a professor at LeTourneau University where he teaches English. Cynthia Palacios holds a master's degree in Spanish. She is an adjunct professor at Kilgore College where she teaches Spanish.

Registration for the classes is set for tonight from 7-9 at the Bible Wesleyan Church, 104 Hagan Road. For more information contact Pastor Dennis Cable at 903-839-7039.
