TCDC sets public hearings

The Troup Community Development Corporation will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library. Two items will be open for discussion during the night's public hearing.

The public is invited to contribute input on the proposed project to fund onehalf of the City of Troup's participation in the SCAD joint mapping project in an amount not to exceed $2000.

This is a coordinated project with the Smith County Appraisal District, 911, Smith County and the cities within the county.

According to TCDC president Gene Cottle, this mapping is a great asset to the city, developers and engineers when it comes to planning growth and expansion.

Also in the public hearing is a proposed project to fund the Sonic sewer project in the amount of $22,432. If this is approved, the TCDC would reimburse the city the amount of money they spent to complete the sewer project to connect Sonic to city services.

On the agenda for the regular meeting are approvals for the projects mentioned and consideration of the 2007-2008 budget for the TCDC.
