Tomie E. McComb
Services for Tomie E. McComb, 81, of Tyler were held Aug. 29, 2007 at Lloyd James Funeral chapel with Rev. B.C. McCoy officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemeter y. Mrs. McComb passed away on Aug. 26 in Tyler.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1926 in Anderson County to the late Thomas I. and Betty Spillers Ezell. She went to work at the age of 17 in a defense plant. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was employed as the head of its food service. She retired after 36 years of service there. She was a member of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron of the Rose Garden Chapter No. 925, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne McComb, in 1969.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Wayne Sweat of Tyler; three grandchildren, Ryan Wayne Sweat of Dallas, Michael Britton Sweat of Tyler and Trey Jarrod Sweat and wife Lindsey of Whitehouse; and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Ryan Sweat, Britt Sweat, Trey Sweat, Andrew Kerr, John Falls and Jerry Wayne Chamberlain.

Honorary pallbearers were Sam Hamilton, Howard Parker, Barry Baines and Gerald Debenport.
