Brown, Shilling marry July 28

Mrs. David Andrew Shilling

Angela Roxanne Brown and David Andrew Shilling were married July 28 at First Baptist Church in Mixon with Bro. Joe Ballard of ficiating the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Donna and Dewayne Brown of Troup. She is the granddaughter of Christene and Don Maxwell of Jacksonville and Florence Brown of Troup.

Angela is a graduate of Troup High School, Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin State University.

The groom is the son of Dave Shilling and Lilian McLeod of Merritt BC, Canada and the late Susan Shilling. He is the grandson of Fran and Dan Shilling of Branderton, Fla. and Mrs. Joe Stearns of Winfield, Ill.

David is a graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas.

Brooke Langston served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Gorman, cousin of the bride, Kaela Beck and Kristy Shilling, sister of the groom. Claire Horn served as the flower girl.

Rob Buwalda served as best man. Groomsmen were Heath Brown, brother of the bride, Jamie Laney and Steve Shilling, brother of the groom. Ben Horn served as the ring bearer.

Ushers for the wedding were Logan and May Roberson, cousins of the bride, Jim Horn and Daniel Deflatte.

The vocalist was Mike Ranshaw of Laurel, Miss. singing "In This Moment" and "Your Love is Extravagant."

The bride wore an elegant white satin halter gown. The a-line gown featured a split front that was adorned by alcon lace and hand sewn bugle beads finished off by a chapel length train. The bluebird of happiness was attached to the gown with a handkerchief from her great grandmother. Her father placed a six-pence in her shoe before the ceremony.

The church altar was adorned with screens and tea lights with fern and white gladiolas for an outdoor garden scenic background.

A remembrance candle burned in loving memory of the late Susan Stearns Shilling at the guest book.

Scripture reading during the ceremony was by Heath Brown, brother of the bride.

A reception was held at The Woods in Jacksonville following the ceremony. House party members were Margaret Gipson, Tammy Spencer, Brittany Jack, Madison Horn and Kendall Huckabee.

Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will reside in Round Rock.
