WH First Baptist adds second service
During the summer where most churches experience the normal summer slump in their attendance, FBC has actually been growing in significant numbers. So much so that adequate seating has become a consistent challenge. The pastors at First Baptist say they truly believe that this recent growth is attributed to a community who sees a growing need to connect to Christ and realizes the positive benefits of worship in their families and their community. "In a world where schedules are hectic and time limited, it is refreshing to have the luxury of worshipping in your own community at a church a couple of minutes from your home," said Don Pardoe, FBC Worship Arts pastor. "First Baptist desires to provide this option." First Baptist expanded services are not motivated by providing a variety of styles of worship or to accommodate a fluctuating population due to seasonal changes. FBC is a church that strives to minister to four generations, to unite a broad age group in order to glorify God by worshipping Him in spirit and in truth. "The music, visual arts and message are all presented in a way to be appealing to all age groups," said Pardoe. "In a nation where average church attendance is in decline, it is refreshing to see a church on the heels of growth meeting the needs of the community."
New service times for First Baptist Whitehouse, starting Sept. 9, will be at 8:30 and 11 a.m. with Bible study at 9:45 a.m. The two services will be identical in content. |
