WH journalism students make UIL All-State staff
      Five Whitehouse High School students were recently named to the University Scholastic League 2006-2007 All-State Journalism Staff. Students receiving this honor are graduate Caitlan Bartle, senior Alyssa Bennington and juniors Brittni Barnett, Caitlin Giddens and Meredith Mohr.

Cheerleaders to hold clinic Sept. 22
Camp participants to cheer at Kilgore game
      So you want to be a Wildcat cheerleader? Here's your chance! The Whitehouse High School cheerleading squads will be holding a cheerleading clinic for all future Wildcat cheerleaders on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 5:30-9 p.m. Kindergarten through sixth-graders are invited to participate.

'Little Ladies' to perform at Sept. 7 game
      Over 120 "Little Ladies" attended a lock-in hosted recently by the Whitehouse High School First Ladies Drill Team. These "Little Ladies" are girls in kindergar ten through fourth grades who will join the First Ladies to perform at the WHS football game against Sulphur Springs on Sept. 7.

Houston Livestock Show ups scholarship funds
      Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials announced recently that all of the show's four-year college scholarships will increase from $12,000 to $15,000 each, a 25 percent increase. Whitehouse JH hosting dance
      Whitehouse Junior High School is hosting a "Back to School" Bash on Sept. 21. The dance will be held from 6-8 p.m. in Nix Gym and is sponsored by the WJHS Visual Arts Department. The dance is for WJHS students only and will feature DJ Sean from Plano.
