JV rolls over Jackrabbits, 34-7

The Whitehouse JV followed an impressive freshman victory last Thursday with a dominating game of its own stomping the Jackrabbits from Forney by a score of 34-7.

The JV would get rolling early as QB Preston Conder would find Kevin Hickman on the first play for a 12-yard catch and run to put the Wildcats into Jackrabbit territory.

The drive would continue ending on a well executed screen pass to Chad Lewis who would get great blocking up front and take the pass 20 yards to the end zone, and Julio Aleman's extra point attempt would give the Cats the early 7-0 lead.

On the second possession of the night, Conder would hit Logan Wright on a 12- yard pass after avoiding the Jackrabbit rush.

This would lead to another screen pass to Lewis, this one going 32 yards for the score, and Aleman's PAT would extend the lead to 14-0.

As the offense was finding the mark in the first half, the defense was stifling the Jackrabbit offense behind solid play from linebacker, Logan Taylor, and defensive lineman, Joey Coggins.

The defense would force a fumble late in the second quarter that would give the Wildcat offense the chance to strike again before the half.

Conder would find Garrett Ehrman for the key play of the drive on a 20-yard pass over the middle leading to a 7-yard touchdown run by Lewis to give the Wildcats a 20-0 lead at the half.

The second half would not be much different as the Wildcat defense continued to dictate play, and the offense moved the ball consistently against Forney.

The Conder to Ehrman connection produced a 32-yard gain to the Forney 22- yard line. From there, Conder would hit Hickman crossing the middle down to the Forney 2- yard line before Lewis would handle the rest of the distance on a 2-yard run, and the extra point would push the lead to 27-0.

The Jackrabbits would get on the board in the fourth quarter to make the score 27-7 and stop any hopes of a shutout.

However, the Wildcats would get the score right back on a 49-yard pass from Conder to Wright which would then lead to a 1-yard touchdown pass to Wright on a fade route in the corner of the end zone. Aleman's PAT would give the Wildcats the final points of the night and make the final score, 34-7.

The JV travels to Sulphur Springs tonight for their first road game of the year with kick-off scheduled to start around 7:30.
