Troup UMC invites area women to 'tea party'

Celebration (A Woman to Woman Ministry) will have an event sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Troup on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. A light brunch will be served starting at 9:30 a.m. This Celebration event is open to all women of all denominations - please come and join in the fun and praise as it will uplift your spirit!

The theme for the Celebration event will be "It's A Tea Party" with guest speaker Terri Deike, the first women's basketball coach at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Mrs. Deike currently serves as sponsor for UT Tyler's Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She is also a member of First United Methodist Church - Whitehouse. She and her husband, Dale, have two children.

Celebration is a woman to woman ministry sponsored by the Texas Annual Conference in the United Methodist Church, but invites and strongly encourages all area women of all dominations to participate in this exciting ministry. The purpose of Celebration is to strengthen and enrich the spiritual lives of women by helping them discover and grow in the fullness of life that God intended for all women to experience as citizens of His Kingdom on earth and as a foretaste of His Kingdom in Heaven.

It is a ministry of sharing, encouraging, discipling and mentoring in the faith with other women, as well as, a ministry of prayer and worshiping in praise of God. For additional information relating to Celebration, please visit the website at www.celebrationministries.org.

For any questions call (903) 842-3320 or e-mail FUMC Troup at 1stumctroup@ earthlink.net. The church is located at 202 E. Duval St.
