Scout Troop 359 travels to Camp Hale
Boy Scout Troop 359 from Whitehouse recently returned from summer camp at Camp Hale in Oklahoma. Scouts had the opportunity to earn several merit badges including snow sports, whitewater rafting, climbing, canoeing and several shooting sports. The camp terrain is steep and rocky and everyone got lots of exercise walking to the many different facilities and riding mountain bikes. There were great swimming activities also, including an iceberg to climb, slides, and even the "Blob," a giant floating scout launcher.
William Furlow, Mitchell Licht, Peyton Lilly, Chase Magness, Jacob Parker, James Ray, Kyle Drott, Troy Hayden and Brannon Beaton were tapped out to join Boy Scout's Order of the Arrow in a campfire ceremony. This was the highest number of boys elected to Order of the Arrow ever.
Troop 359 meets every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Whitehouse United Methodist Church and welcomes any boys age 12-17 to come join the fun.
