Cody Alvis Malone

LINDALE - Services for Cody Alvis Malone, 83, of Lindale were held Sept. 3 at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home chapel, Lindale, with the Revs. Danny Carter and Stephanie Hughes officiating.

Burial was in Dover Cemetery near Lindale.

Mr. Malone died Aug. 31, 2007 in a Tyler hospital.

He was born Sept. 11, 1923 in Mount Sylvan to the late Cecil and Lennie Grandberr y Malone, and was a lifelong resident of the Smith County area. He served in the Army, was a truck driver for Tyler Pipe and Allied Transport for a number of yeas, and was a member of Mount Sylvan Masonic Lodge No. 764 and Lindale Order of Eastern Star No. 864. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvah Cole Malone in 1992; infant son, Cecil Martin Malone; and four brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Malone, Lindale; sons, W.M. Cody Malone, Winona, Richard W. Malone, Tyler, and Eugene Malone, Red Springs; daughters, Dian Schuring, Mabank, Sheila Sulser, Whitehouse, and Sharon Lott, Longview; brother, Odell Malone, Tyler; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Scott Smith, Cecil Ray Wright, Cody Allen Lott, Joe Guarrera, Gary Wyatt and David Books.
