The Quilter's Guild of East Texas will meet Thursday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. at the TASCA building 3402 Old Omen Rd., in Tyler.

Whitehouse D.U. banquet set

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful will meet Friday, Sept. 21 at the Bayou Grill at 10 a.m. Members, new members and others interested are invited to join this group as they plan for the coming year.

VFW Post 1799 open daily

VFW Post 1799 on Rhone Quarter Road opens daily at 2:30 p.m. for members and guests. Each day offers a different activity such as competitive pool, karaoke and social hour. For information visit WWW.vfw1799.org or call 903-561-3501.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

The Great Big Book Sale is coming Sept. 21-22. The sneak preview for the sale is Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. A $5 ticket gets you in the door and a light snack. Story time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Regular library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday 11- 4. Questions? Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Eat Right For Life Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Regions Bank in Whitehouse (across from the Post Office). Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Meet the MS Tigers set

Troup Middle School Tigers will be introduced during Meet the Tigers on Thursday, Sept. 13 at Tiger Stadium. Hotdogs will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:30. Middle school band, cheerleaders, volleyball players, football players and coaches will be on hand for the event.

WHS Cheer clinic coming

The WHS cheerleading squads will hold a Cheerleading Clinic for all future Wildcat cheerleaders on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the high school gym from 5:30-9 p.m. This event is for those in kindergarten through 6th grade. A $25 fee covers the clinic, games, snacks, photo with Willie the Wildcat, a t-shirt and free admission to the WHS vs Kilgore varsity football game where students will have the opportunity to cheer with the varsity cheerleaders.
