In personnel matters, trustees approved the 2007-2008 compensation plan salary schedule with the addition of a pay grade 12 establishing a midpoint in the administrative scale for the superintendent. "That midpoint was set at $126,000," said Daniel Dupree, assistant superintendent. "The teacher/other professionals salar y scale was approved with a $36,000 minimum teacher salary," said Sherrie Lloyd, director of finance. "The teacher scale was adjusted for the $36,000 minimum salary and each teacher will receive a $1,700 annual increase over their 2006-07 salary." Lloyd went on to say that a survey of salaries in the administrative/ professional category was conducted by the district and job classifications and pay ranges were adopted. "A salar y range is determined for each pay grade of the scale by establishing a midpoint salar y based on the survey data," said Lloyd. "The stipend schedule for extra-curricular salaries was approved with a three percent increase and bus driver pay was set at $14 per hour based on route length." "During the budget process, a three percent pay increase for the administrative/professional category and a five percent pay increase for the manual trade and clerical/paraprofessional categories were approved based on the midpoint of the prior year scale," said Lloyd. Following an executive session, the board approved the employment of Shara Armstrong as a third grade teacher on the Higgins campus. |
