Cross country teams compete at Tyler Lee

The Whitehouse 2007 cross country team participated in its first meet Saturday, Sept. 8 at University of Texas at Tyler in the Tyler Lee Classic.

The boys 3.1-mile race consisted of 106 participants from 4A and 5A schools, and the girls two-mile race had 90 participants.

Timothy Priest led the boys team with a time of 19:18, followed by Travis Tincher - 20:23, Adam Lindenmuth - 20:54, Brad Marsh - 23:54, Kevin Kapka - 24:25 and Ricardo Medina - 25:10.

Kami Cook finished with a time of 14:02, followed by Brittany Wilkens - 14:16, Danielle Nelson - 15:52, Alex Barnes - 16:12, Judith Sparks - 16:17, L ydia Uribe - 16:26, and Whitney Rankin - 16.36.

Sulphur Spring's Tate Ramirez won the boys varsity open division with a time of 16:45.

Catherine Loden of White Oak was tops in the varsity girls open division with a time of 11:56.

The Whitehouse team will next compete at Sky Ranch on Sept. 14.
