Saylor, Dockter wed in outdoor ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Dockter
Vanessa Saylor and Jef f Dockter were wed in an evening ceremony on June 9 at the Lakeview Lodge in Athens. The ceremony took place outside under wisteria draped Roman columns beside the lake.

Vanessa is the daughter of Jef f and Linda Saylor of Whitehouse. Jeff is the son of Robert and Paula Dockter of Flint.

The bride wore an ivory satin Alfred Angelo gown with embroidered lace accents, crystal beading and sequin embellishments. The halter-style neckline and empire waist was accented with a lavender ribbon. The lace-up bodice back was accented with the embroidered lavender ribbon trailing down the chapel length train. The bride wore an ivory tulle veil with crystal accents and a satin hem.

The bride was attended by Jenny Waller of Waxahachie and Lindsey Wyatt of Ponder. The groom's nieces, Hanna and Kendyl Dockter of Torlett, served as junior bridesmaids, with niece Haliegh Dockter serving as "flower angel." The groom's son, Koby, served as ring bearer.

The bride's attendants wore lavender strapless chif fon dresses accented with satin waist bands and high-low hemlines.

The groom was attended by his two brothers, Craig and Paul Dockter, both of Rowlett.

The groom, groomsmen and ring bearer all wore traditional black tuxedos.

The reception was held inside the lodge with an hors d'oeuvre bar preceding dinner catered by Ochoa's Mexican Restaurant. The three-tiered wedding cake and the groom's cake were catered from the Cherry Laurel Bakery in Athens.

Following a honeymoon trip to Cozumel the new family will reside in the Tyler area. Vanessa is the head athletic trainer at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville. Jeff is the operational manager of 4-D Lawn Service.
