Whitehouse's Brady Attaway was recognized this week as the Built Ford Tough/ Dallas Cowboys Texas High School Football Player of the Week for Weeks 0 and 1.
The Built Ford Tough / Dallas Cowboys Texas High School Football Player of the Week program honors one student-athlete in six of the state's athletic classifications every week during the high school football regular season for his accomplishments on and off the field.
Attaway played a key role in his team's 38-22 win over Sulphur Springs on Sept. 7, completing 27 of 42 passes for 301 yards and six touchdowns. He also threw for 233 yards and five TDs the previous week, leading the Wildcats to a 32-24 win over Forney.
For the first two weeks of the season, head coach Randy McFarlin said Attaway was 47 of 77 for 534 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Off the field, Brady is an A student and plays baseball and basketball. He participates in Keep Whitehouse Beautiful and is active in his church.
"Brady is a great player who throws the ball extremely well," said McFarlin. "He's a great kid, the typical All American."
McFarlin added that the state-wide award was a big honor for Attaway, who is quick to share credit with his receivers and offensive line.
