Ruben Jacquez

A Going Home Celebration for Ruben Jacquez, 55, of Whitehouse is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd., Tyler with Pastor David Walker officiating. The services will include military honors. Arrangements are by Cottle Funeral Home,Troup.

Ruben was born Sept. 22, 1951 to the union of Ernesto Jacquez and Margarita Alvarado Jacquez. He was the second oldest of eight children. He had three sisters and four brothers.

Ruben served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a graduate of Yselta High School in El Paso and also attended the University of New Mexico.

He married Reneé Alvidrez, June 15, 1973 and two children were born to this union.

He retired from the Department of Defense in Las Cruces, N.M. He and his wife, Reneé, relocated to Tyler in 2002. He united with the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor David Walker.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Jacquez.

He went home to the with the Lord on Sept. 21, 2007.

His memory will be cherished by his wife and best friend Reneé Jacquez, Whitehouse; a son and daughter-in-law, Edmond and Lauren Jacquez, Marietta, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy Jacquez-Lindsey and James Lindsay Jr., Tyler; four brothers, Hershey Jacquez, Jacob Jacquez, Peter Jacquez and Enrique Jacquez, all of El Paso; three sisters, Irima Jacquez and Jackie Frausto, both of El Paso, and Margi Fowler, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; a very special friend, Brian Moreland; and a host of many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
