Paul Gray Isbell

Services for Paul Gray Isbell, 89 of Tyler, were held Sept. 22 at First Baptist Church in Whitehouse, with Dr. Ray Davis officiating. Burial followed in Williams Cemetery. Services are under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mr. Isbell died Sept. 19, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. He was born Feb. 6, 1918 in Collin County to the late Archie Melton and Alice Lee Sadler Isbell. He had lived in Tyler since 1965, and retired from the city of Tyler, where he worked for the road and water departments. He also worked for the Knight Hawk security company the last few years of his life. He also worked in the oil field business traveling all over the world. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot during World War II, Masonic Lodge No.1233 in Tyler and No. 785 in Bullard. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitehouse.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Isbell, in 1992. He is survived by a son, Robert P. Isbell of Tyler; daughter, Beth Massey and husband Mark of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Bryan Isbell and wife Twiggy of Brownsboro, Brad Isbell and wife Vickie of Tyler, Amanda Moyer and husband Scott of Orange, April Massey of Dallas and Lara Massey of Whitehouse; great-grandchildren, Jessica Isbell of South Carolina, Kylie and Tye Moyer of Orange.

Pallbearers were Bryan Isbell, Brad Isbell, Scott Moyer, Sam Brewer, Greg Bonham and George Hall.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Open Door Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Whitehouse and Jessie Yzaguirre.
