Q.T. Shelton

Graveside services for Q.T. Shelton, 79 of Troup, were held Sept. 22 at Liberty Community Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne McAllister officiating under direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co., Tyler.

Mr. Shelton died Sept. 17, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Dec. 29, 1927 in Elkhart. He attended Troup schools and worked as a house mover. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Troup.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother. Survivors include sons, Johnny Shelton, Troup, and Harvey Shelton, Houston; daughters, Charlsie Williams, Mary Clayton and Rachel Redwine, all of Tyler, Brenda Shelton, Jacksonville, Darlene Shelton and Venethia Sayon, both of Kilgore, and Angelene Bibbs, Troup; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Q. Andrew Shelton, Billy W. Shelton, Jeffery Brager, Clarence D. Williams, Todd Williams, Randy Williams and Shaquille Sayon.

Honorary pallbearers were nephews and deacons of Liberty Baptist Church.
