Top scholar, athlete to speak at WHS

David Stockwell, top scholar and athlete from Rice University, will speak to the students of Whitehouse High School on Monday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

Stockwell, having attended Rice University on a football scholarship, has had unprecedented opportunity to bring his powerful message into schools across America and throughout the world.

Stockwell's school assembly program, David Stockwell Speaks Out, has been presented from coast to coast in America and in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central and South America.

As he travels internationally, Stockwell speaks with young people about drug and alcohol abuse, abstinence, AIDS awareness and other social and moral values, such as patriotism, respect for authority and positive motivation. Stockwell has a special ability to communicate with the youth of today with clarity, power and relevance.

The assembly program is both motivational and instructive. Stockwell has the unique ability to blend humor, personal experiences, and vital statistics into a program appreciated by students and faculty alike.
