The Ladycat varsity volleyball team continued to roll through District 12-4A play last week with two more big victories.
On Tuesday, the Ladycats rolled into Pine Tree to face the district rival Lady Pirates. Past years have found Pine Tree to be a difficult place to play, but not this year! Whitehouse got a big night from Jordan Knight (10 digs, 6 kills, 16 service points, 8 aces) to knock off the Lady Pirates by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-13.
Other standouts for Whitehouse were Christine Ford (9 assists, 9 kills), Joanna Blake (14 assists), Sadie Hilburn (4 kills), and Katie Kidwell (4 kills).
The Ladycats returned home on Friday night to host the Lady Lions from Henderson.
Whitehouse had one glitch in the second game but rebounded strongly to win the match 25-13, 20-25, 25-15, 25- 14.
Hilburn would have a big night with 17 digs and 13 kills for the Ladycats. Other standouts were Ford (14 kills, 20 assists, 17 service points), Blake (29 assists, 16 service points), Kidwell (10 kills 11 digs), and Stephanie Alexander (5 kills, 7 service points).
With these two wins, the Ladycats are one match away against Hallsville from getting through the first round of district play undefeated.
The Ladycats headed into this week with a 6-0 district mark and 16-6 season record.
The Ladycats will host Kilgore tomorrow afternoon with the varsity match starting at 4:30 p.m. at Wildcat Arena.
