Bascom UMC continues celebration

Bascom United Methodist Church continues in the celebration of its 150th anniversary with special services on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10-11.

The preaching on both nights will begin at 7 p.m and be led by former pastors.

There will be a light supper starting at 6 each night.

On Friday, Oct. 12, church choir director Larry Stanley will lead a music program.

The Sunday morning service will be led by Rev. James Thompson at 11 a.m., followed by a covered-dish luncheon.

Bascom UMC held its first service on Aug. 19, 1857. Founding pastor was Benjamin West.

The church is located on FM 848 at the corner of Old Omen Road.

Visitors are always welcome at Bascom UMC.
