Movie in the Park caps day of fun The Whitehouse Women's Civic League will host an afternoon of fall fun followed by "Movie in the Park" on Saturday, Oct. 20. Events will start at 4:30 p.m. at Whitehouse City Park, 309 E. Main Street. Admission is free and all proceeds from the food concession, face painting, cookbook and glow necklace sales will benefit the many local projects of the WWCL. A variety of game booths will be free of charge. Sponsors of this community event include Austin Bank, The Regian Company, Ben E. Keith and Terminix. The afternoon will kick off with entertainment by Tanya Hurst along with carnival booths, face painting and food at 4:30 p.m. Movie feature "The Ant Bully" will be shown at dark. In "The Ant Bully," ten-yearold Lucas is the new kid on the block- and the local bullies make sure he knows it. Tired of being a punching bag, Lucas takes out his frustration on the ants living in his lawn. But when the ants strike back- shrinking Lucas down to their size with a magic potion and forcing him to live like an ant within the colony- an astonishing new world opens up to him. Lucas learns, first-hand, the value of friendship and teamwork, ultimately leading the ants in an effort to save their colony from annihilation. And in the process, Lucas obtains the things he wants most: friends, companionship, acceptance and the courage to stand up for himself. According to Yahoo! Movies, this Warner Brothers animated movie is rated PG for some mild rude humor and action. The public is invited to dress in costume, bring the entire family and lawn chairs, and support the community projects of the WWCL. |
