Jan Ross Flanagan

Jan Ross Flanagan, daughter of Monnie and Maude (Findley) Ross, was born on Aug. 18, 1936 in Henderson and passed away on Oct. 6, 2007 in Tyler at the age of 71.

She was united in marriage with Danny Flanagan and to this union three children were born, all surviving.

Jan was a graduate of Henderson High School and Kilgore College where she majored in Business and was a Rangerette. She worked for Wellborn-Houston Law Firm, Henderson Clay, the County Judge in Henderson, and she retired with TXU in Tyler in 1993.

She enjoyed a very active lifestyle, especially in her church activities and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Jan was a very active member of the Pollard United Methodist Church in Tyler, where she was a member of the Epworth Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Glory Singers and Holy Folders.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dana Miller and her husband Reggie of Elysian Fields, and Angelee Cashion and her husband Kevin of Whitehouse; one son, Jason Flanagan and his wife Robin of Henderson; three sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Tyler, Frances Joplin of Henderson, and Betsy Terry of Canton; three brothers, Monnie Ross of Church Hill, Rev. Jim Ross of Holly Lake and Justice Donald Ross of Texarkana; grandchildren, Emily and Ben Dial of Carthage, Nolan Miller of Elysian Fields, Ross, Sadler and Addie Flanagan of Henderson, and Seth and Conner Cashion of Whitehouse. She is also survived by her friend, Danny Flanagan. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Finley Ross.

Funeral services were held Oct. 8, 2007 in the chapel of Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home in Henderson, with Dr. Jim Reiter and Rev. Jim Ross officiating. Interment followed in the Strong Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Nolan Miller, Ross Flanagan, Seth Cashion, Conner Cashion and Ben Dial.
