Class of '97 reunion includes family picnic

The class of 1997 of Whitehouse High School is set to celebrate their 10 year reunion.

The reunion will begin with the Whitehouse vs. Hallsville football game on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Alums are encouraged to meet at 7 p.m. near the home side entrance gates.

Organizers advise those who plan to attend to purchase their tickets in advance or get the $7 per ticket to them and they will purchase it. Previous games have been sold out. Those requests must reach organizers no later than Monday, Oct. 15.

Other events scheduled are a family style picnic on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Whitehouse City Park.

"We invite everyone to bring their family or just themselves and a picnic lunch," said organizer Hollie Head Ellis.

The weekend tops off with dinner, dessert and dancing at Hollytree Country Club from7 to 11 p.m. Also a cash bar will be available.

"Doc Deason will be there to play music from our high school days," Ellis said. "We will sell tickets at the door, but we need to know that you are going to be there."

The cost of the evening event is $50 per person and can be paid at the door.
