Troup girls take 2 wins

Troup's Lady Tigers pulled out a three games to one win over Waskom Friday. With a victory in Timpson on Tuesday of last week, the Lady Tigers improved their district mark to 5-3 heading into this week's matches.

Troup managed a come-from-behind win in the first game with Waskom. Trailing 17-21 and then 19-23, the team won the next six points with Janna Ross at the service line to take the game 25-23.

Game two was tight from the beginning. The teams tied at 11-all and from there neither squad claimed more than a two point advantage before Troup fell 23-25.

The next two games belonged to Troup, 25- 21 and 25-19, with the Lady Tigers claiming the momentum and maintaining the lead throughout.

The team won more handily over Timpson, with straight set scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 25- 13.

Troup had a balanced scoring attack, including Stewart with eight kills, Ross seven, Worl six, Haleigh Roach three, Collins two and Cline and Maegan Knuckles with one each.

Stewart and Knuckles also notched two blocks each, while Janna Ross and Cline each added one.

Brittney Westerman led her team in aces with three, followed by Worl and Jessica Ross with two each, Stewart with one and Cline with one.

Cline also had 27 assists and two digs, with York adding a dig and Jessica Ross scoring one assist.
